IFMA Session 1: 2:00-3:00PM, Lighting Roundtable

Take a quick tour of the products, processes and best practices for lighting your facility. This vendor panel will bring together decades of expertise to provide you with valuable information about lighting, automation and conservation.  Whether, you’re building, expanding, retrofitting or just wanting to keep up with current lighting technology you will benefit from this seminar.   

Lighting Panel Bios

Pat McGee-  Pat has been in the Manufacturers Rep business for over 20 years in the Kansas City area selling and marketing products to the Construction Industry, and Home Center/Hardware retailers. In 2010 he entered in to the Energy Efficiency business by joining INNOVATIVE FACILITIES SOLUTIONS (I.S.F.). IFS is in the business of assisting commercial property owners save money by reducing their energy usage by recommending and implementing energy saving measures using a wide array lighting technologies

Leo Fink - Leo is an account executive with Stanion Electrical wholesale.  His specialty is lighting and controls.  He has over 35 years in the industry working with Stanion.  Leo works with many local contractors helping them address their customers' lighting needs.

Mark Williams - Mark is an Energy Consultant for Midwest Light & Energy.  His specialty is lighting design and product knowledge.  He has over 4 years in the industry.   In Mark's previous career he has a background in warehouse management.  This knowledge helped has helped him in his design and implementation of systems.   


ASHRAE Session: 3:00-4:30PM Development & Financing of Sustainable Buildings, Presented by: ASHRAE President, Tom Watson, PE

The development of sustainable buildings presents a significant opportunity to reduce the demand on resources such as land, energy and water while offering better indoor environmental quality, occupant productivity, building functionality and reduced building systems maintenance. In order to achieve these goals, considerable technical evaluation, coordination, planning, training are needed. Also, it is especially important to have a sound financial plan. An approach that integrates energy efficiency measures, water conservation, etc. with sound fiscal planning is a major key to successfully producing sustainable buildings.

IFMA Session 2: 3:30-4:30PM, Camera Technologies

Recent events have made camera and security systems have a priority for all facility managers.  This vendor panel brings together decades of expertise to provide you with current information about camera and security system technology.  This is a rapidly evolving arena and our panel will provide attendees an opportunity to get an overview of technology and processes involved with implementing or upgrading security systems at their facility.

Jason Shields – Thomas L. Dowell & Associates-Jason A. Shields, Territory Sales Manager for manufacturers’ representatives Thomas L. Dowell & Associates, has 19 years of experience in commercial construction with a focus since 2006 in physical security systems and technology.  After previously working in project management, operations and sales with local security integrators, he currently represents Panasonic Video Security, Moog/Videolarm and Raytec Lighting (among other manufacturers).  Mr. Shields is also proud of his long term involvement with the KC ASIS chapter, including serving as 2012 Chapter Chairman.  All of this experience is drawn upon regularly to help provide the latest industry knowledge regarding video surveillance technology and applications for consultants, engineers, integrators, end users and property owners.  Based in Kansas City, Mr. Shields is a local resource focused on security needs in Missouri and Kansas. 


Scott McIntosh – CI3 Integrators-Scott is a graduate of Kansas State University and a long standing member of ASIS. Scott also belongs to IFMA where he serves on the Associates Relations Committee. He began his career as a systems integrator in 1992. He has extensive knowledge and experience regarding the design and implementation of Enterprise wide systems. In his nearly twenty years in the security integration business Scott has worked with some of the largest corporations, institutions and agencies in America and has been involved in the design and implementation of thousands of security solutions big and small.


Robb Black – VIPRO – President - Vipro Inc. is based here in Kansas City. They have sold more than 1,000 security systems over the past ten years locally and nationally. Recently they were involved with the system installed at the “College Basketball Experience”. They are currently working on integrating RFID with their video security to track personnel.  They enjoy working in situations where they are developing unique solutions for their clients.
